Bowman: Age 9-12   (will turn 12 yrs old in 2010)
Cub: Age 13-14 (will turn 14 yrs old in 2010)
Cadet: Age 15-16 (will turn 16 yrs old in 2010)
Junior: Age 17-18 (will turn 18 yrs old in 2010)
Senior/Open: Age 19-49
Masters: Age 50+ , Age 60+, Age 70+

ELIGIBILITY
To qualify for a region, an athlete must be ONE of the following:
- A full-time resident within the region for 30 days prior to first day of tryouts.
- A full-time student at a recognized academic institution in the region.
- A registered member of a sport club in Massachusetts, for which you are entering.  The club must be your exclusive “contact” with the sports.  Athletes using the club membership for eligibility may not be a member of a non Massachusetts club.
- All others may shoot as “Guests” but are not eligible for medals.
 
EVENTS

All events will be held outdoors regardless of weather.  Athletes may enter ONE event only.  Please enter your Event Code & Division on the Entry Form.

FORMAT
GENERAL
- The competition will be held over two days with competitors shooting both days.
- There is no qualifier required. Distances are measured in meters (m) or yards (yd).
- Review the formats below carefully.  This event will consist of the traditional FITA Round, 36 arrows at 4 distances.  In every division, 144 arrows will be shot.  Ends will consist of either 6 arrows (longer distances, four minutes) or 3 arrows (shorter distances, two minutes).
AR01&AR022
This event is also a Star FITA event with eligibility for National/World Records.
Targets will be NAA multi-color, ten ring faces.  The 122 cm target will be used for the two longer distances, the 80 cm target will be used for the two shorter distances.

AR03&AR04
NFAA style Field Targets 65 cm & 50 cm faces, 5 ring scoring, 36 arrows at each distance. Compound archers should select to shoot these divisions based on personal preference for distances and target faces.

RULES
- A maximum bow weight of 60lbs. for event AR02 and a maximum bow weight of 70lbs. for event AR03 or AR04. 
- NAA dress code applies for events AR01 and AR02
- All athletes must supply their own bows, arrows and other related equipment. 
- Membership to an Archery Association IS NOT REQUIRED unless applying for a National or World record.
 
ENTRY FEE

Entry fee: $30           

 
AWARDS
- All participants receive a Bay State Games T-shirt.
- Medals are awarded to the top three in each division.  
- Award jackets are presented to the gold medal winners in each division.
 
ENTRY DEADLINE

Entries must be postmarked by June 30, 2010. Confirmation sent by July 1.
