COMPETITION HIGHLIGHTS
- Medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each event.
- Competition is hosted on the campus of Regis College.
DIVISIONS
Masters I: Ages 40-59 Masters II: Ages 60 and older *Male and female divisions.
*All ages are as of July 9, 2011.
ELIGIBILITY
All athletes must be a Massachusetts resident or a full-time member of a Massachusetts based Track club.

Masters athletes can chose to compete in the open or masters division on an event-by-event basis.

Athletes choosing to enter events as an open athlete must register using the open division entry form, pay the qualifier entry fee, compete in the qualifier and pay the finalist fee if they qualify.

Athlete who also choose to enter some events as a master athlete must re-register using the master entry form and pay the appropriate masters entry fee.

100 Meter 400 Meter 800 Meter Long Jump Discus
200 Meter Mile Shot Put Hammer
All masters athletes will be limited to the same number of events as athletes in the junior, scholastic and open divisions. Athletes may enter one (1) running and two (2) field events or two (2) running events and one (1) field event. As of Friday, July 1 at 5pm Masters athletes will not be allowed to switch events.
RULES
- For the Shot Put and Discus implement weights will vary depending on the age of the competitor. The weights are as follows:
SHOT PUT MALE Age 40-49=16lb, Age 50-59=6k, Age 60-69=5k, Age 70-79=4k
SHOT PUT FEMALE Age 40-49=4k, Age 50-59=3k, Age 60-79=3k
DISCUS MALE Age 40-49=2k, Age 50-59=1.5k, Age 60-69=1k, Age 70-79=1k
DISCUS FEMALE Age 40-49=1k, Age 50-59=1k, Age 60-79=1k All Masters competitors in the Discus and Shot Put MUST SUPPLY THEIR OWN IMPLEMENTS. Bay State Games WILL NOT SUPPLY IMPLEMENTS.
- US Track & Field Rules will be followed.

USTF membership is not required to enter.
- The starting block requirement will be waived. Blocks can be used by those who wish to.
USA TRACK & FIELD SANCTION
All four Bay State Games regional track and field qualifiers as well as the finals at Regis College will be sanctioned meets by USA Track & Field. The sanction number for the 2011 Bay State Games Track & Field competition will be posted when it is received.
SEED TIMES
Participants in the 100meter, 200 meter and 400meter must provide a seed time on their application. Seed times can be updated until July 1 by contacting the Bay State Games office at info@baystategames.org or by phone at 781-932-6555. Athletes who do not provide a seed time will be dropped from the event. SEED TIMES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED ON THE DAY OF THE MEET.
FORMAT
- Masters athletes compete at the finals only.

Finalist fee: $25 for up to three events
ENTRY DEADLINE
All applications must be postmarked NO LATER THAN JULY 1, 2011. On-site registration on the day of the meet WILL NOT BE ALLOWED!!!
